God, I haven't posted on DW in forever! But it's the new year, and I'm going off the fandom diet. Resolution: To fan in moderation.

I'm doing the Snowflake challenge for January, but I'm doing it in chunks because it's really not in my schedule to devote that much time to DW, sorry.

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

The fan work that came deepest from my heart (even if I wish I'd gone deeper, story-wise) is "Better," a Merlin fic.

The fan work I had the most fun writing was "How the Doctor Saved Spring," which is a Dr. Who-How the Grinch Stole Christmas crossover. I shared it with a friend, but not yet the internets. (It's long!)

My favorite incomplete is tentatively called "Darla."

Day Two: Three fannish things I'd love to receive.
1. Podfic of one of my fics, even the ones I consider quite silly. If someone voiced the Santa/Jesus epic poem I'd die laughing, then reincarnate as a Kukabarra (kookaberra? cookebera? wtf idek)
2. Seeing the songs that people associate with different characters and series. Even if the whole thing is Greenday, which I personally have a limited tolerance for, how people interact with music is really interesting.
3. Watching Stargate with somebody. I totally need a Stargate buddy to binge-watch the series with.

Day Three: What's my creative process?
Step one- Get snagged on an image, a sound, a phrase, or a feeling, that absolutely will not let me go.
Step two- Wait and write scene after scene in my head and obsess over it for days.
Step three- At about 9pm on a Friday, start writing. Finish 2am Saturday.
Step four- Add bits, remove bits, figure out if it has continuity errors/makes any sense.
Step five- SPaG check endlessly.
Step six- Post on wash-onthewind/, or the kinkmeme(if that's where it came from), or maybe just maybe on AO3

If I hit a block, I.... give up completely. I'm not that dedicated, and fanfiction is FUN. If it's hard and struggly, I am 100% okay with posting it 50% finished.

Day Five: What's my Fannish Origin Story?
Livinia Connor was the name of the protagonist in my stories when I wrote fantasy in high school. Her mother was a baker and she wore beautiful dresses and generally had adventures with her male sidekick, Coram. Hence Liviconnor.

My descent into fandom was actually my dad's fault. He was joking about those weirdos who read Snarry, and I knew almost nothing about that stuff, so I looked it up. Then I looked up H/D, and Hermione/Snape, and Marauders fic, and... well. That was around my freshman year of high school, over 10 years ago.

I stopped reading HP around the last book, and moved along to Merlin, and Avengers, and everything Copperbadge ever wrote. I'll read almost anything if it's recced by someone I trust, whether I know the fandom or not. That's actually why I want to watch Stargate.

And here I am!
